Getting Started: WK&C likes to begin with a conversation to learn about your organization's purpose, mission, and any challenges hindering the attainment of your vision.
We need to learn about deadlines, challenges, and opportunities that might be motivating your organization in the pursuit of your future. It is important to learn about your organization because the better we understand you, the better we can craft effective strategies. We believe there are multiple ways of getting from here to there.
Seminars: Educational opportunities in a variety of areas ranging from philanthropy and organizational development to preparing for a campaign or creating a foundation, with many topics in between. We have programs that are ideal for retreats or for simply a special presentation.
Counsel Now!: Conducting onsite research and interviews to provide a client with immediate answers to particular challenges. Solutions and recommendations can break the uncertainty for a board that is perplexed about what to do in today's changing philanthropic climate.
Organizational Development Studies: Specialized study designed to provide information about the effectiveness of your mission and vision. It evaluates your performance in attaining your goals, the relevance of your governance structure in facilitating your objectives, and the success of your strategic plan in gaining the desired results. It also includes an outside perspective from people and organizations that helps identify your external image.
We believe that it is necessary to compare and contrast the outside perspective with your organization's direction. Evaluating your strategic direction affects the level of your fundraising programming and your overall ability to raise money.
Board Development: Acquiring the board members that your organization needs to fulfill its vision, a prerequisite for success. We can evaluate your board, identify and help enlist new members, and educate them about their responsibilities and the basics of fundraising.
Strategic Planning: Enhancement of your organization by aligning a new or updated vision to facilitate new goals. Identifying goals and their corresponding strategies can yield an effective strategic action plan. There is a difference between setting goals and creating a workable plan to achieve them.
Audit/Assessment: A review of your development program that includes its case for philanthropic support, programming, support, policies, collateral materials, website, budget, governance, staffing and strategic plan. An audit is a technical review which can provide effective recommendations to improve your development program for the future.
Campaign Planning Studies: Determination of campaign readiness, strategy, and a goal figure that evaluates the immediate factors necessary to launch a campaign, and opportunities that can help you build your philanthropic program for the future. Conducting a study is a way to qualify your probability of success instead of just wondering about it.
Creating/Enhancing Your Foundation: Creation of a solid base for long-term success by identifying the vision, goals, structure, board development, action plan, and fundraising programming for your foundation, whether you are forming a new foundation or looking to reinvigorate an existing one.
Fundraising Studies: Specialized studies to provide information about your philanthropic program. They can range from analyzing community perception, testing your mission statement, receiving feedback about your performance and goals, or obtaining a better understanding of how people feel about giving to your organization.
Development Programs: Instilling the habit of giving through ongoing fundraising programs and activities. This program builds donor relationships, year after year through annual giving programs, special events, friend raising activities, major gift appeals, planned giving program, and a donor recognition system. We can assist you in creating or improving your program.
Capital/Endowment Campaigns: Raising significant sums of money for capital projects and additional funds to insure future operations. Our fundraising efforts are designed from the insights gained through a Campaign Planning Study to develop a campaign's parameters, strategies, materials, and goals. This provides the tools to enlist leadership and volunteers, to determine the right approach to prospects, and to help train and motivate solicitors. Good studies create successful campaigns.
Database Management: A key function essential to the success of any fundraising effort. It provides the information from which all programming, accounting, reports, and donor histories originate. We have developed the in-house staffing and expertise to manage a development program or campaign database and design and produce the variety of mailings and required reports.
